About Us

Dragonfly Estate is located in Needles, B.C., 2 hours East of Vernon or 1 hour South-West of Nakusp. Our site is down Whatshan Settlement Rd. just off Highway 6, so if you're just spending a night while passing through or you're in need of a getaway, we're located 2 1/2 Km off the Highway so there's plenty of peace and quiet.

We are a small privately owned acreage campground and because we are small and only have a few RV sites, you are not boxed in like at some other large busy campgrounds. So... if you're looking for a quiet getaway and not a crowded RV park with small side by side sites, this is for you. Our grounds are a large open field surrounded by forest and mountain views.  There are 3 lakes just a 10 minute drive from our site; Whatshan Lake and Arrow Lake being most popular. Whatshan Lake is known for being one of the warmest lakes in Canada, there's a public beach for a picnic and swimming. Arrow Lake is great for fishing and boating, and Snowshoe Lake is more of a fishing lake.

We have both Off-Grid RV and tent sites, and RV sites with power and water. You can purchase firewood from us for $10 for half a wheelbarrow.

*During this time of covid-19 we would appreciate if you used your RV facilities rather than the outhouse. *Unless you are tent camping* Thank you for your understanding during this time.

Things To Do

Whether it's just to relax and unwind, or to go swimming, boating, fishing, hiking,  quadding, hunting or a little bit of everything. This semi-private campground is just what you're looking for.

Plenty of things to do and places to visit.

  • Beautiful Whatshan Lake is only a 10 minute drive from our property, it has a public beach and boat launch if you have a boat. Rainbow trout reaching weights of 1.5 kg (3.3 lb) as well as bull trout of up to 4.5 kg (10 lb) are resident in the lake. Kokanee are small but plentiful.

  • Arrow Lake is a 10 minute drive and has Large Gerrard Rainbow Trout and are resident in this lake where fishing is best in the fall month

  • Snowshoe Lake is a 10 minute drive, has both rainbow and brook trout and are abundant, weigh up to 2 kg (4.4 lb).

  • Fauquier Golf Course is 7 k/m east. Needles/Fauquier ferry will get you across the Arrow Lake in about 7 minutes.

  • Hunting is great out here, so if that's an interest, Deer, Elk, and Partridge are plentiful in the area.

  • 20 minutes away is Edgewood, a small, friendly rural community where many of the people make a living working in the local agriculture and forestry industries found in the Inonoaklin Valley and the rest of the Lower Arrow Lakes region. The pace is a little slower with the residents adopting a real laid-back lifestyle. For local services, there is the Edgewood General Store with a gas station, Canada Post Office, Branch 203 Royal Canadian Legion, Vantage One Credit Union and the Edgewood Health Centre.
